A Texas native, Marla Morrison was born in
El Paso, spent her school years in Lake Jackson, got her B.F.A. in drawing at Texas State University in San Marcos, and now resides in Allen with her husband and two of their three children. (The eldest is currently in Austin at UT). From 1995-1997 she lived in California where she earned her M.F.A. in painting from Claremont Graduate University.
As someone who is inspired by all sorts of art media, Marla seeks to show beauty in color, design, and the physical behaviors of resin and paint. For her, making art is about the process, just as much as the end result. It’s her hope that the work will bring joy to whomever has it!
